What began as a 60th birthday surprise video during lockdown is now an incredible compilation album sure to go down in history as one of the most unique and impressive ever produced. Elite artists of all ages, stages, genders and genres coming together to celebrate one of the worldâs most important yet undersung heroes, national treasure Kevn Kinney. Kevnâs catalogue of hundreds of songs (both as lyricist/frontman of Drivin n Cryin and solo) has been pared down to the most beloved gems, released in four seasonal installments. Net proceeds from the physical record sales are going to carefully chosen charities including:
-Alejandro Escovedoâs âSIMS Foundationâ which offers mental health and addiction services for folks in the music industry. He did an extremely moving "Another Scarlet Butterflyâ for the album.
-Ike Stubblefieldâs affiliated organization 'How Big Is Your Dreamâ which is education based (his final recording was for this project on an INCREDIBLE instrumental version of âUnderground Umbrellaâ featuring members of the Sheryl Crow band)
-Shelly Colvinâs âOut of the Woodsâ which was inspired by her son Judge and helps kids with spinal cord and brain injuries. She is doing a gorgeous version of âSave For Meâ with Dylan LeBlanc.
-Tom Grayâs âFarmLinkâ which partners farmers with food banks to tackle food waste AND food insecurity. We lost him too soon, but he contributed a portion of âForty Miles of Mountain Roadâ which will be the closer of the project.
